HRA has a unique set up because they house everything under one roof, including low-cost veterinary services, behavioral training, and animal care. The donations and support from the community is the reason that HRA has been so successful at this. Easterns and Fox 5 DC got wind of the incredible things that HRA is doing and volunteered to help out. In honor of National Adopt a Shelter Pet Day, they made a donation of $3,000 to cover the cost of all pet adoptions on Tuesday, May 1st. It was a success! People definitely came out to support and several now have new additions to their families. The remainder of the money will go to HRA?s vet care fund. The vet care fund was set up to pay for the additional care needed after the animals find a home. HRA is such an incredible organization for going beyond the call of duty to help these animals. Mouths dropped when Allison Seymour of Fox 5 DC walked in to the waterworks Zumba class with camera crews present alongside Joel Bassam, Director of Marketing for Easterns Automotive Group. The two teamed up to pay the January fees for all of the members so that they continue to stay motivated and strive to reach for their 2018 health and fitness goals. Everyone was thrilled and very appreciative of the generous deed.

Reed has been busy helping out in her very own community for quite some time. The original reason that she started providing free haircuts was to boost the confidence of the homeless and provide a stepping stone to help them get on their feet. ?Some of them have job interviews and some of them already have jobs and just can?t afford haircuts.? Reed told Fox 5. It?s very important to let these people know that they haven?t been forgotten. Many people that are homeless don?t want to be there they are but have no choice at the moment. Some people have just simply made bad decisions but want to turn their life around, be happy, and prosper on to bigger and better things. Reed has a tremendous impact on those that she does help. The level of compassion she shows is remarkable because she knows that being homeless could happen to herself or anyone.

When Reed is not volunteering her time and talent, she is hard at work at 4&Co Salon in Rockville, Maryland and Ricks Chop Shop in Mount Airy, Maryland. She asks her clients for small donations as well as products to help her provide the free haircuts and shaves. Easterns and Fox 5 DC were blown away by her selflessness and her amazing generosity to the community. The two teamed up to help Pay It Forward by providing Reed with a bulk supply of non-perishable foods, $500 in gift cards for supplies, a towel steamer, as well as a gift certificate for personal spa day. The Washington Auto Show came to town during the last week of January. It was only right that we (Easterns Automotive Group) went to see everything and learn more. When we got there, we were surprised to see the crowd there on a weekday. This event truly brings out everyone from the DC, Maryland, and Virginia area. Our first stop was the 2018 Toyota Camry which offers a complete redesign from the current 2017 body style. With Toyota being the best-selling car in America, they had no choice but to really hit it out of the park with one. Some notable changes for 2018 are the redesigned body, new sleek interior, 2 new engine options (depending on the model), updated safety features, and of course updated interior technology.

The luxury floor was next on our list so it?s only right that we share some of our favorites. Almost immediately the 2018 Lincoln Navigator caught our attention. It literally looks like something out of a movie. One long side door is offered for each side to out both front seat and back seat passengers. The doors go up like a Lamborghini which is pretty impressive for an SUV. The back trunk area is a basically an on the go closet area which is super convenient for those constantly on the road.

Mercedes-Benz has an awesome coupe line-up for 2018. At first glance, the GLC, GLA, and GLE look very similar but they each have their own role. It?s really great to see Mercedes giving their customers variety to choose which one fits them the best. It really depends on what the particular person is looking for. The price range of this line up starts in the mid-40?s.

Our next stop was of course the exotic floor. On this particular floor they had everything from Rolls-Royce, Lamborghini, Bentley, and Aston-Martin just to name a few. The quality of these cars is just on a different level. This is definitely the floor where most people send the most time day dreaming about their personal favorite ride. A personal favorite of mine was the Rolls-Royce Wraith. It has such a bold design and while it is luxurious, it offers a sense of grit. The Wraith is also owned by favorite notable celebrities such as Odell Beckham, Khloe Kardashian, and French Montana.

We enjoyed attending the 2017 Washington Auto Show! It is clear that 2018 is going to be an exciting year for the automotive industry.

If you drive on a daily basis than you know how annoying it is to hit a pothole unexpectedly. Joel Bassam, Director of Marketing at Easterns Automotive Group, recently caught up with Fox 5 DC to discuss the damages that potholes can cause to your vehicle. Potholes can knock the air out of your tires, mess up wheel balance, or even affect the wheel alignment. However, there are signs to look for to if your car has been damaged by a pothole. One of the most common things to look for is a change in ride. When a vehicle starts to drift or shake, there is a possibility that a pothole could be at fault. For safety purposes, it is very important to always check the tire thread on the tire tread on a vehicle.

Many of us just hop in the car and ride. However, it is very important to take the time to keep your vehicle in great cosmetic condition. One thing that can sometimes get in the way of that is bird poop. At times, it is easy to be lazy when we see bird poop. We don?t always act immediately and that is the wrong thing to do. It?s definitely better to act sooner than later to prevent long term paint damage to your vehicle.
